I wanted make some scrappy 9 patches so I grabbed myself a handful of light and dark 1.5 inch strips. I cut these strips 5.5 inches long (that gave me three 1.5 inch segments from each strip set) for a better variety and interest.

Next I chose two other fabrics from my stash to go with the little 9 patches. I love the green not to crazy about the orange but, I think it works so I"ll go with it.

Now, I had to decide what I would do with the other fabrics.....hmmmmm. Got it! I'll make some hour glass blocks to use for alternates. Next, I cut one 4 1/4 inch strip from the green and orange fabrics. After a little more sewing..........and more sewing. :)~

TADA! A sneak peek of what I have so far.. LOL I'm thinking about using this darker green for the border then adding a deep chocolate brown for the binding.
Happy Stitching,
