Y Seams

I pulled red fabrics .......OK hmmmm...... to practice inset seams....... My motivation for this learning experience ?......Trying to piece hexagons.....need I say more. I've always avoided inset seams but, there are so many wonderful patterns that require Y seams....that I decided it was time for me to be buckle down and learn the dreaded Dot to Dot sewing....LOL

My first 8 pointed star! Woo Hoo! I did it...I love it........this little 8 pointed star has given me such a feeling of accomplishment. Now, do you think I'm ready for a Lone Star quilt? LOL....(repeating to myself) baby steps......baby steps.
Happy Stitching,
Shar

Here's one for you, I opened my bloglines and saw this picture and gasped...my son asks,"What's wrong?" and I say,"Oh, I wish I knew how to quilt!" Then he says,"Don't worry Mom, It's OK". LOL! I love this one. Great work....

Oh that is so pretty! I make almost ALL lone star quilts! so I can throw together a y seam pretty easily. You probably found it was like falling into the briar patch! "ahhhhh that wasn't so bad...what was I scared of?" Great job!
